St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Hainesport

Hi everyone! 
There are only 2 weeks until the Rainforest adventure begins at St. Paul's. Are you as excited as I am?

Here are a few reminders:

• Rainforest Adventure beings on Monday, July 21 at 8:30 am - 12:00 p.m.  The program is 5 days and will end on Friday, July 25. IF YOUR CALENDAR HAS CHANGED AND YOUR CHILD CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY.  Children who are coming one or more days will be kept on the roster.  Only those who will not attend at all need to contact me.
• There is an Adult Bible Study in conjunction with our Rainforest Adventure.  If you are interested in attending, please contact the church office at 267-0740 to register.
• EVERYONE needs to bring at least one paper towel tube with them on Monday, please.
• Our giving project this year is "Dona a Donna"  give to the school district of Donna, TX to purchase much needed classroom library materials for the school.
• In addition, on Tuesday, July 22 there will be a canned food drive for the local food pantry at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.  Tuesday's verse is "If we can give, we should be generous" Romans 12:8
• Friday, July 25 is Wet and Wild Day in the Rainforest, Everyone should be prepared to get wet!
  

One of the most important opportunities we have is to provide fellowship for all who are joining us in the Rainforest!  Here are three great ways that you can join in the fun:

• Thursday, July 24 "Bring your own Picnic" and a movie.  Please join us at the conclusion of the Rainforest Adventure for a chance to picnic with friends - you provide your own lunch and we'll provide the air conditioning!  To be followed by the movie Curious George at 12:30 in the sanctuary.  This is a family event, all children must have a parent or chaperone in order to attend.
• SUNDAY, July 27 - Join us for worship at 11:00 as the children of the Rainforest Adventure recount for the congregation through song and readings all of the wonderful things that they did during the week. To be followed by.....
• The ST. Paul's Church Picnic - immediately following the 11:00 service (close to 12:30).  Sign up information will be posted in the church.  Cost is $5 for a single person, $10 for a couple or family.  We'll provide the food, you provide the FUN!

Monday, June 23rd, 7 P.M.
Spirit Bound Concert
"Reaching for the Presence"

Come, join Spirit Bound for an exciting hour of song and story as they take you on the journey of a diverse group of people who discover how God has reached out to them and wants them to help others reach for the presence of God in Jesus Christ.
Spirit Bound is composed of approximately 52 adults and high school youth. Their main goal is to share the story of God's love. Through this hour-long musical drama they hope to demonstrate how we support one another in a community of believers.
2008 marks the 22nd year Spirit Bound has been together as a group. They are excited to be bringing their message this year to the people in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota.
We encourage you to come, bring a friend and experience "Reaching for the Presence". There is no cost to attend. A free will offering will be received at the end of the program. They will be performing their musical, "Reaching for the Presence" with us on Monday, June 23rd at 7 P.M. 

There was a great turn our for Breakfast on Father's Day, June 15th.
The menu was ham, eggs, fried potatoes, sausage/dried beef gravy, biscuits, fruit cup, cold cereals, muffins, bagels, juices, tea, milk and lots of good Lutheran coffee.
Donations will go to Haiti through ELCA World Hunger. There is a hunger crisis in our world and it must be changed!
